The market might continue to run

14/10 At 5 pm. The FBM KLCi is 13.33 points up to 1,246.84; TopGlove ends 24 sen up to RM 8.40, PPB adds 24 sen to RM 15.84, 3A rises 23 sen to RM 1.42.

14/10 At 4.30 pm, crude oil in electronic trading is up 74 cents to US74.89 per barrel, CPO futures add RM 16 to RM 2,173 per tonne.

14/10 At 3.30 pm FBM KLCI surges to 16 month high of 1245.95; CIMB adds 24 sen to RM 12.40, Maybank up 22 sen to RM 6.96, NSTP up 16 sen to RM 2.45.

14/10 Ringgit rises to 13 month high at 3.37 on expectations that exports will continue to improve an aid nation’s economic recovery.

14/10 Airasia announces 3 new destinations in India, daily direct flights to Kolkata, Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram(Trivandrum) from KL starting November.

14/10 Malaysian Institute of Economic Research revises 2009 GDP upwards from contraction of 4.2% to 3.3 % backed by optimism of economic recovery.

14/10 The local bourse opens up 1.54 points, or 0.12 pct to 1235.05

14/10 Wall street declined 14.74 points, or 0.15 pct to 9871.06 in overnight trading ; Crude oil advanced 88 cents to USD 74.15 a barrel.

13/10 AIG to sell its Taiwan life insurance unitfor USD 2.5 bil, its biggest divestment since the US insurer’s government bailout in 2008.
